Electrolyte
As you can see in the picture i too started out using baking soda for an electrolyte. Actually i started out with salt, i had some on the kitchen table. Little did i know both were bad to use as an electrolyte in a hho generator. Yes they made the cell work but damage was being done to the cell. Heavy brown color appeared in the mixture right away. The longer the electroylte mixture was run the darker brown it got.
KOH the electrolyte of preferred by most of the big names in hho cell generators. Koh is potassium hydroxide is a caustic lye . You should always wear rubber gloves while handling the mixture. Koh should always be added to water not the other way around. Remember to dispose any used liquids as hazardous waste.
Koah, Sodium hydroxide, also a lye should be handle in the same way KOH is handled. Common uses for Koah is soap making, drain cleaner. Since KOAH will leave a yellow stain on fabric i fill like it will also turn your hho generator water yellow-brown.
White vinegar, usually used straight. Vinegar contains acetic acid (4 to 8 percent). I've never used it,some manufactures like Magdrive recomend only using White Vinegar as an electrolyte.
I read where one person was running a mixture of white vinegar and hydrogen peroxided, reports it works real goog as as an electroylte.
